  • Peace Pole project draws together Year 6 pupils

    Year 6 pupils from church schools across the diocese have been taking part in a project to create Peace Poles during this academic year. Normally they would gather at our cathedral for a Leavers' Service, when they would take part in workshops and worship around the same theme. This year, they were unable to gather, but shared in a video that will be available for all pupils to watch, at home or at school, at the end of this term. Read more

    Churchgoers have expressed their delight at being able to worship inside their churches again for the first time in more than three months, as restrictions continue to be eased. They practised social distancing as they tried to keep each other safe from the pandemic. Read more

  • Ambulance workers thank church for reorganising their wedding

    Steph Little and Tom Martin were due to get married on July 4. The coronavirus pandemic meant their wedding day had to be postponed for a year. But when the Prime Minister said that small weddings could go ahead from July 4, they had 11 days to reorganise their big day. They wanted to thank St Faith's Church, Lee-on-Solent for moving heaven and earth to help them to make the arrangements. Read more

    National Lottery funding will help to pay for a range of community activities focussed around the restoration of a historic organ in a Portsmouth church.   • Churches open their doors for private prayer

    Churches around our diocese are opening their doors to allow individuals to pray privately. It’s the first time members of the public have been allowed in our churches for three months. For some people, it’s a welcome easing of the lockdown restrictions. Read more
