MY FAITH: Ordination confirmed God’s call for me to plant new church
It was only when the Rev Fran Carabott was ordained at our cathedral that he felt he was truly part of the Church of England. It marked the culmination of a journey of faith that began after a tragedy, and included a strong sense of calling to plant a brand new church. He’s now leading St Margaret’s Church in Southsea, reaching to those in the local community in multiple ways. Read more

The Past Cases Review 2 (PCR2) is the most comprehensive safeguarding review our diocese has ever carried out. We asked reviewers who were independent of our diocese and the Church to sift through decades of paperwork to help us to deal appropriately with any outstanding safeguarding concerns from previous years.
That review has now been completed, recommendations have been made, and any outstanding safeguarding concerns are being dealt with. Read more -

Anna Chaplaincy takes off on island
One of our bishop’s priorities is to provide practical and spiritual support for the more elderly members of our communities via Anna Chaplaincy. This will involve a network of Anna Chaplains working in parishes, benefices and clusters across south-east Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. The first of our Anna Chaplains to be commissioned, Anne Powell, is already going into care homes and visiting individuals at home. Read more

Jackie Brookfield, who has been involved with All Saints Counselling Service since it started 30 years ago, has retired. Others have paid tribute to her commitment over the decades. Read more
