    Programme Manager for CSR’s Young People’s Emotional Health and Well-being – Maternity Cover for 1 year, (50% - 80% role)

    The Council for Social Responsibility has a strategic goal to make a positive contribution to the emotional health and wellbeing of children and young people in Portsmouth, South-East Hampshire, and the Isle of Wight. Exploratory work began in 2023, and a member of staff appointed in August 2024. The trustees, stakeholders and participants in this work are keen for it to continue and this is therefore offered on a 50% basis (2.5 days/week) or up to 80% for a period of up to 1 year.

    Maternity Leave cover for this role will include taking on currently active projects, including and not limited to:

    • Stay connected to and maintain relationships with Portsmouth City Council
    • Project Management of ‘The Wellbeing Club’ young person's podcast, working in collaboration with #BeeWell. This includes marketing and co-production with young people.
    • Continuous development and delivery of Art Wellbeing workshops across the community.

    We are looking for someone with ability, insight, flexibility and wisdom and with a heart for and experience of working with young people. They will need a strong understanding of safeguarding and clinical governance as well as be able to develop and manage operationally the provision that is designed and implemented. A ‘can-do,’ innovative, self-starting mindset and commitment to building lasting partnerships is essential. An understanding of the wider children’s strategic and operational system would be useful. Sensitivity to, and humility towards, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) will be essential in the co-design elements of the work especially if it is to reach the most vulnerable and marginalised. A proactive commitment to co-design and co-production is also essential as is an understanding for and sympathy with the potential for social enterprise models and approaches to elements of the work.

    • Salary: £30,000 FTE (pro rata for 50% - 80% role: £15,000 - £24,000)
    • Days: Part-time. Days negotiable. Likely to include Fridays: 2.5 - 5 days/week
    • Leave: 25 days FTE plus bank holidays (pro rata for 50% - 80% role)
    • Base: Flexible. Main office is Peninsular House, Wharf Road, Portsmouth, PO2 8HB. Elements of the role are suitable for some home working. A hybrid approach will be possible with some regular days based in the office and at other sites such as schools or community bases.

    Portsmouth Diocesan Board of Finance (PDBF) acts as employing agent for CSR.
