    Bishop Christopher has announced his retirement as Bishop of Portsmouth. He will step down from his post in April after more than 10 years in the role. His wife, Canon Sally Davenport, will also step down as team rector of Holy Trinity and St Columba Church, at the same time. Read more

    Singers from Igloo Music have helped worshippers from St Nicholas Church, Wickham, to mark its 900th anniversary by writing a special song. It was recorded remotely from people’s homes and aims to celebrate the role of the church’s bells. The anniversary year will conclude with a special service on December 6th. Read more

    The Ven Gavin Collins, Archdeacon of the Meon, will be the new Bishop of Dorchester, it was announced today. Gavin, who has been archdeacon in our diocese since 2011, will be consecrated in January. Read more

  • Living Advent Calendar tells Nativity story

    Amateur writers and actors from the Havant area will tell the story of the birth of Jesus in a novel way this Christmas. They'll record 26 separate monologues, each featuring a character from the Nativity story, one of which will be released onto Youtube every morning throughout Advent. The project is an initiative of Havant Passion Play, which has already performed three outdoor plays telling the story of Jesus's life in 2015, 2017 and 2019 Read more
