in GeneralMemorial stone dedicated to recall wartime sacrifice
A new memorial stone has been dedicated on the South Downs Way to recall the sacrifice made by 33 servicemen in the Second World War as they prepared for D-Day. Former and serving military personnel, as well as civic dignitaries and guests, attended the dedication service near Warnford, at which the names of those who died were read out. Read more

Churchgoers across south-east Hampshire and the Isle of Wight will invite refugees from Ukraine to live alongside them. We’re launching a drive to find 50 individuals or families who can host refugees fleeing from the horrific conflict in Ukraine. We’re working with the charity Citizens UK, who can help to link us with refugees in Ukraine, Poland and Moldova. Read more

Church launches cafe for bus stop users
Worshippers from Church of the Good Shepherd in Crookhorn have launched a cafe for those waiting for buses outside their church building. They were already offering hot chocolates and cakes to those at the bus stop twice a week. Now they've created the Bus Stop Cafe, open from 7am-10am five days a week, as part of their outreach. Bishop Jonathan visited this week to see it for himself. Read more

in GeneralYoung people take centre stage at bishop’s installation
Children and young people took centre stage as the Rt Rev Jonathan Frost was installed as the tenth Bishop of Portsmouth in a colourful and enthralling service in our cathedral. Three separate choirs led worship, while secondary school students led Bishop Jonathan in and out of the cathedral, and presented him with his robes and episcopal insignia. It was a joyful occasion, with around 500 members of our churches, community, civic dignitaries and guests attending. Read more

Children and young people at heart of bishop’s installation
Children and young people will be at the heart of a special service at which the tenth Bishop of Portsmouth will be installed in Portsmouth Cathedral. The Rt Rev Jonathan Frost will be installed into his ‘seat’ in our cathedral during a service starting at 3:30pm on Saturday 12th March. Read more
