We are a family friendly church in Newport on the Isle of Wight and part of the Parish of Newport and Carisbrooke with Gatcombe.

Covid-19
Hand sanitizer is available in the church and we have some socially distanced pews for those who would like to use them. We are taking all the precautions we can to keep people safe during services and other events in the church and respectfully request that you wear a face covering when moving around inside the buildings or singing.

The parish of Newport Minster, Saint John and Carisbrooke is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Portsmouth’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services..

Sunday Morning Service
Each Sunday morning there is a service in St John's Church at 9.30am followed by tea and coffee in the hall.
The services are family friendly and alternate between Holy Communion and a simple morning service.
Everyone is welcome to join us.
Junior Church meets during Holy Communion services in the church hall during school term time.

Youth Alpha
A series of meetings for young people of secondary school age interested in finding out about Christianity.

Chatterbox
Chatterbox is a friendly carer and toddler group run in St John's Church Hall on Mondays during school term time. There are plenty of toys to play with and refreshments for all ages. At the end of each term we have a short informal service in the church. Chatterbox is run by St John's Church and there is no charge.

Play Cafe with Pitter Patter
Join us for free stay and play activities for children aged 5 and under and their carers. Activities, drink and snack provided.

Lunch Club
For members of our community who are looking from friendship and companionship.
Coffee Bar 10.00 to 11.30.
Freshly cooked lunch 12.00Our membership has dropped in the last few months due to illness or disabilities and we are now looking to increase our numbers. If anybody would like to join us we would be very pleased to welcome you.

Midweek Service
A short midweek service of around 30 minutes which alternates between Holy Communion and Morning Prayer. All are welcome and booking is not necessary.
