SIAS - the Statutory Inspection of Anglican Schools is also known as Section 48.
All Church of England schools have both an Ofsted and SIAS inspection.
Controlled Schools - SIAS will inspect the Distinctive Character of the school, the effectiveness of the Worship, how Religious Education contributes to the school's Christian character and the quality of the Leadership of the school as a Church School.
Aided Schools - SIAS, in addition to the above, also inspects the quality of Teaching and the Standards achieved by pupils in Religious Education.
You can seek advice and support on any aspect of SIAS from the education team by contacting Liz Hodson on 02392 899 658 or by email
