All church schools are bound by the 1991 measure which provides the statutory framework for church schools.
For this reason all church schools must seek advice from their Diocesan Board of Education on a variety of matters including building works.
An updtaed version of the measure is available here.
Although Voluntary Controlled schools are maintained by the Local Authority the land on which they are built is often owned by a trust or the Diocese.
The diocese should be consulted whenever any building work or grounds developments are being considered.
This will ensure there are no delays before work commences.
Please talk to John Gorrie for advice and support.
Below is a Warning Notice that should be made available to relevant governors and placed in a prominent position in school.
Below you find documents for Voluntary Aided School to use when seeking permission from the diocese for building work.
