The Govering Body hold many statutory powers and have considerable authority regarding the strategic direction of a school.
In church schools the Governing Body and the Foundation Governors in particular also have a duty to ensure the school honours and develops its Christian foundation.
With power comes responsibility and the diocesan education team is on hand to support and advise any governor of a church school with regard to all the aspects of leadership and management.
